Our approach to resolving the problem and relieving you of pain begins with an assessment and identifying the particular tissue with injury. Once we have achieved this, we usually begin care with the application of soft tissue manipulation (a targeted vibratory deep tissue technique) to the appropriate muscles and other soft tissues involved. This is a specific form of soft tissue work that we have adopted as part of our approach to achieve faster relief. This technique works by, helping the body break up fibrous (scar) tissue and allowing for better reorganisation of healthier tissue, reducing swelling and inflammatory waste and toxin build up, by way of speeding up the lymphatic drainage system and increasing oxygen and nutrient supplies to the area of injury.
We then perform specific chiropractic adjustments or mobilisations to the areas of biomechanical (joint articulations) stresses or impaired function. This assists to, restore normal motion and flexibility of the stiff or restricted area, improve proprioception (sensation & control) of ligaments, tendons and muscles, stimulate better nerve firing patterns to improve musculoskeletal communication with your brain, and hence improve coordination and balance of your musculoskeletal system, thus ultimately reducing the risk of re-injuries and dysfunction.
