Foot orthotics

"supporting you from the ground up"

Custom-made Spinal Pelvic Stabilisers (Foot Orthoses)

Custom OrthoticsFoot Scan
At Enmore Centre for spine we understand the importance of total musculoskeletal balance and coordination in order to prevent frequent re-injury of the musculoskeletal system, including the spine and pelvis. Hence, we have included in our examination the assessment of the feet and lower limb structure to determine how they may be biomechanically affecting the rest of the skeletal system.

Whenever the assessment of the feet and the lower limbs indicate  involvement of any spinal-pelvic structural anomaly we then proceed to digitally scan all the 3 arches of each foot by using our Foot Levelers scanner (the only weight bearing scan that assesses the 3 arches of the foot).

Chiropractic orthoticsFoot Scan
From this feet scan we are then able to prescribe you custom-made foot insoles (orthoses), called Spinal Pelvic Stabilisers, which are designed to support all three arches of the foot and provide a symmetrical foundation for the spinal-pelvic alignment rather than just having a corrective effect on the structure of the foot as do other plastic or rigid type orthoses.
This means that they have been prescribed for your whole body not just a foot problem.

Each Stabiliser has three arch supports that are set at the lower end of the range of motion to allow for the normal pronation movement that absorbs the shock from heel strike when walking, yet blocks the damaging excessive pronation movement which occurs without any arch support, such as walking barefoot on hard surfaces or wearing shoes without custom-made insoles.

Chiropractors are concerned with maintaining a normal range of motion of the foot, otherwise excessive forces can be distributed up the closed kinematic chain causing excessive motion and pain at the knee, hip and sacroiliac joints. This allows for a normal proprioceptive (balance) input by the nervous system to give you good coordination and stability.

Chiropractors have been prescribing foot insoles since the Foot Levelers laboratory opened in 1952 and has since become the largest orthoses laboratory in the world. The goal at the Foot Levelers laboratory is to provide you with comfortable custom-made foot insoles that create a balanced and symmetrical foundation for your spine without causing unnecessary side effects that rigid or semi-rigid plastic orthoses may do...that is our guarantee or your money back.
